Body Recomp & Muscle Mass

Build lean muscle, lose the stubborn fat, and get more out of the training you’re already doing.

You train, you eat reasonably well, and the mirror still isn’t keeping up. That’s a familiar story after 35 or so, when growth hormone output declines, recovery slows and fat seems to settle around the middle no matter what. Body recomposition peptides target the signaling behind that drift: growth hormone, fat metabolism and overnight repair.

Dr. Loera uses growth hormone secretagogues such as tesamorelin, CJC-1295/Ipamorelin and sermorelin. They prompt your pituitary to release more of your own growth hormone rather than adding synthetic HGH. Paired with resistance training and adequate protein, the result is more lean mass, less visceral fat and faster recovery between sessions.

How it helps

How body recomposition peptides help

Peptides don’t build muscle on their own. What they do is restore the hormonal environment that lets training and nutrition pay off the way they did a decade ago.

More growth hormone, naturally

Secretagogues trigger your own pulsatile growth hormone release, which raises IGF-1 and supports protein synthesis.

Lean mass support

Better repair signaling helps you hold and build muscle, especially in a calorie deficit.

Visceral fat reduction

Tesamorelin is the peptide with the strongest evidence for reducing deep abdominal (visceral) fat.

Faster recovery

Less soreness and quicker bounce-back between sessions lets you train harder, more often.

Deeper sleep

Bedtime dosing deepens slow-wave sleep, where most muscle repair happens.

Joint and connective tissue support

Growth hormone signaling supports tendons, ligaments and bone density, which matters as training loads go up.

Which peptide for which goal

  • Stubborn belly fat, waist that won’t budge: tesamorelin, the most studied option for visceral fat.
  • Lean mass, recovery and sleep in one: CJC-1295/Ipamorelin, the workhorse combination for most people.
  • A gentler, more physiologic starting point: sermorelin, often chosen for first-time users or older adults.
  • Injury holding your training back: add a short recovery peptide course.

Hormone levels matter too. If testosterone, thyroid or cortisol are off, peptides alone won’t get you there, and we’ll say so after reviewing your labs.

Peptides vs. anabolic steroids vs. HGH

Steroids and synthetic HGH override your body’s controls, which is where the side effects come from. Growth hormone peptides work upstream: they ask your pituitary for more of its own hormone, released in natural pulses and still governed by feedback loops. The gains are steadier and the safety profile is far better, at the cost of patience: think months, not weeks. If you compete in a tested sport, note that growth hormone secretagogues are prohibited.

Doing your part

Peptides amplify good inputs. Three to four resistance sessions a week, protein at roughly 0.7 to 1 gram per pound of goal body weight, and seven-plus hours of sleep are the baseline that makes a protocol worth the money. We’ll give you simple, specific targets and check in on them, and we can add a body composition and biological age assessment to track progress with numbers instead of guesswork.

Candidates

Is body recomposition peptide therapy right for me?

Often a good fit

  • Adults over 35 who train consistently but see slower results than they used to
  • Stubborn abdominal fat despite a reasonable diet
  • Slow recovery, persistent soreness or lighter sleep
  • Wanting to support growth hormone naturally rather than use HGH or steroids
  • Comfortable with a nightly self-injection and periodic bloodwork

Let’s talk first

  • Active cancer or cancer treatment in the last five years
  • Uncontrolled diabetes or pre-diabetes without monitoring (growth hormone affects blood sugar)
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Competing athletes subject to anti-doping rules
  • Expecting results without training and nutrition in place

The process

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Consultation and labs

We review your training, diet, sleep and goals, and check baseline labs including IGF-1, blood sugar and key hormones.

  2. Step 2

    Your protocol

Dr. Loera selects the peptide, dose and schedule and sets training and protein targets to match.

  3. Step 3

    Teaching

First injection in the office; after that it’s a one-minute bedtime routine.

  4. Step 4

    Three to six months

Prescriptions ship from a licensed compounding pharmacy. Track body weight, waist and lifts so we can see trends.

  5. Step 5

    Reassess

Follow-up labs and measurements at roughly three months guide whether to continue, adjust or cycle off.

Good to know

Body recomposition questions, answered

What is the best peptide for building muscle?

For most people, CJC-1295/Ipamorelin is the starting point: it raises growth hormone and IGF-1, deepens sleep and supports recovery. Tesamorelin is preferred when visceral fat is the main target. Sermorelin is a gentler option. None of them replace training; they make training work better.

How much muscle can I expect to gain?

Growth hormone peptides support lean mass gains of a few pounds over several months when combined with consistent resistance training and adequate protein. They are not anabolic steroids; the change is steady, not dramatic, and most of it comes from being able to train harder and recover faster.

Will peptides help me lose belly fat?

Tesamorelin has the strongest evidence for reducing visceral fat, the deep abdominal fat tied to metabolic risk. CJC-1295/Ipamorelin also supports fat metabolism. A calorie-conscious diet still matters; peptides shift where the body stores and burns, not the laws of energy balance.

Are these peptides the same as HGH?

No. HGH is the hormone itself. Peptides like tesamorelin, CJC-1295/Ipamorelin and sermorelin stimulate your pituitary to release your own growth hormone in natural pulses, which keeps feedback loops intact and side effects lower.

How long until I see a difference?

Sleep and recovery often improve within two to three weeks. Visible changes in body composition typically take eight to twelve weeks, with the best results at three to six months.

Do I need bloodwork?

Yes. We check IGF-1, blood sugar and relevant hormones at baseline and during the protocol so we know it’s working and staying safe.

Are these peptides FDA approved?

Tesamorelin is FDA-approved under the brand Egrifta for excess abdominal fat in HIV-associated lipodystrophy; its use for general body composition is off-label. CJC-1295/Ipamorelin and sermorelin are not FDA-approved and are prescribed off-label through compounding pharmacies. Availability can change with regulations, and Dr. Loera will confirm what can currently be prescribed.

What are the side effects?

The common ones are mild: water retention, tingling in the hands, vivid dreams, hunger after dosing (ipamorelin can raise appetite briefly) and injection-site redness. Blood sugar can rise in susceptible people, which is why we monitor it.

Are growth hormone peptides banned in sports?

Yes. Growth hormone secretagogues are prohibited under WADA and most testing programs. If you compete, tell us and we’ll discuss what is and isn’t appropriate.

What does a body recomposition protocol cost?

It depends on the peptide, dose and length of the plan. Peptide therapy is self-pay and not covered by insurance. We’ll give you a clear quote at your consultation; our price list is always available.
